I went to a local coin show on Sunday and decided to spoil myself with the little money I have. I bought a couple of proofs and this 1909 VDB cent. After placing it in my album, I noticed that the VDB is way too small than the pictures that are online. Did I get a fake coin? Hope not

Sorry for the bad picture again

No one would counterfeit a 1909 VDB, and definitely not being this worn out. You are fine.

How much did you pay for it? I usually buy these from $0.05 to $3 all the time.

Not fake. Don't feel bad, I paid $20.00 for one of my 2 examples.

I paid $7 for a similar looking vdb. Don't feel bad, if you wanted it it was worth it.

Graysheet "bid" Is 10$, so no, you didn't overpay based on the market.

Could you have gotten a better deal? Yes....if you shop around you can get things below market.

It looks quite happy in your album. No hints of a problem as far as authenticity is concerned. A VDB is always nice to own, and $8 isn't so bad.

like others have said probably not fake. You can get nicer examples for just a little bit more money at most places but not a bad place holder for now. I think I paid $20 for one in Au58-MS61 recently
