Quote: I made these last night.
This morning I spent them at the bank to pay off my HELOC to finally be 100% debt free. I had to pass the teller a paper buck to get them back to hold as a symbolic keepsake sort of like the framed dollar bill hanging above the cash register in every small business that was the first dollar they ever made.
I'm not counting them since I got them back right away. Fun and congratulations!

In our last week's Farmers Markets and other expenditures I circulated $291 in halves - most of these are in actually giving change in sales transactions. I really liked Jack's memento for paying off debt! When I paid off my home farm it was just a check sent by Express Mail! Unfortunately, as a farmer and business owner I have had to buy new trucks to replace the work out and dead ones, cover payroll, supplies, etc. etc. etc. and last year was really bad for farmers with the drought, employee shortages and insects and plant diseases, so I am not debt free, just in different forms of debt.... In any case I did have one exciting item on the half dollar front, I discovered a Stature of Liberty 1986-S proof clad half dollar. I chose to keep that. Also, I have now all but 4 of the Kennedy half dollars issued from 1964 to 2004, with 12 of the 2005 to 2013 coins filled in to. All of these coins I have retrieved from circulation and I have 4 other proof coins also from circulation. I HOPE to fill in the blanks and maybe some more of the proof San Francisco coins too. I am at the point where it is really hard to find the coins I am looking for now. $93,422 to go... In the last year I have circulated over $10,000 in half dollars. * corrected total

So do you keep NIFC and stuff like that? It seems like with that volume going through your hands every year you'd end up with a lot.

$5 for event parking to see my sister graduates, $15 on a tip at dinner Saturday night (7 people), $10 in gas today, $9 in groceries, $15.50 for lunch, and another $7.50 on party supplies. $62?
So... $93,349? Right?
