Hi Guys,

I bought this piece on a whim, didn't cost a great deal and I figured its probably a reproduction but I was wondering if anyone knows what the piece is meant to be?

I've been successful in the past in identifying these types of Chinese styled items but I've hit a brick wall on this one.

The amulet is 40.6g and 53mm across:

Chinese-Amulet

Chinese-Amulet

Thanks!

The hourglass was used on Wu Zhu coins from 118BC to the 400s (and some later). But the character to the left I can't place on any coins.

On the other side the left character looks roughly standard, but the right character is unusual, and those don't connect to the hourglass.

Seems like a mishmash and not trying to copy something specific.
