I Would have Loved TO Say a nice brown unc woodie , but rash on face kills it.
could use a little Verdi-Care for traces of Verdigris . AU-58 ?

Beautiful coin, fine grain woody...and great pics! Personally, I would not do any conservation, looks great just how it is IMO.

Love the fine grain woodie. AU-55. The rash might be nothing more than an accumulation of dirt. Straight bottled water and a pat dry might make it go away. It would bug me.

I like brown uncirculated with a lot of red lust left.
Red lincoln is very nice but too expensive for early lincolns.
For wood cents, it is very attractive for me.
For this coin, I thought some of the black color is not woodie but environment damage.
