coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/17/2016 10:36 pm The areas in the glare appear to be machine damage. Note how they are all the same color of glare. Best to diffuse you light a bit and let the light fall across the devices, not into the area you want to show. The light diffused and is at 12:00. It falls across the last images of machine damage. Note the affect. Proof coins are harder to photo, but not impossible. Report this Post to the Staff

What looks like doubling, especially on the L, is an artifact of the lighting produced by my scanner. The coin is perfectly normal. With proof coins in particular, not only can you get weird lighting of the device edges, but you can also get reflections of those edges on the mirror fields.
