biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 01/05/2017 5:35 pm I would consider "significant wear" as Fine to Good(such as the OP's coin). A 1925-1930 issue would have to be at least AG or lower to have portions of the date missing. Report this Post to the Staff

Alex12780 Valued Member United States 344 Posts	Posted 01/09/2017 9:22 pm I don't think it would be possible to bring the date back on this coin. Silver is a lot softer than copper and nickel, so any effort to restore the date with any chemicals would just rub it away worse than it is. I do remember reading somewhere that if you take a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and rub as hard as you can, you may be able to clean some of the crud off enough to make the date a little more visible under a bright light.
