Both of these are pretty rough. The dates are readable. Will upgrade when and if I can.

I don't know what the oldest AD dated Russian coin is (there are several debatable issues in the 17th century), but the generally oldest dated Russian coin appears to be the wire kopek of 7104 AM, corresponding to 1595/96 AD.
I do try to collect 16th century dated coins (though it's only one among my very many interests), and would have probably collected 15th century dated coins too if I ever stumbled on any (at an affordable price).
In fact, I'm considering expanding my One From Each Century set (which had now been tentatively finished, pending attribution of 13th century coin - though I'd prefer to also buy a new 8th century coin without apple damage) to include at least one dated coin from each century (within reasonable limits, obviously, and of course most of those dates would be in non-AD calendars).

Here is a Spitzgroschen from the German City State of Saxony-Wittenberg dated 1475 AD. It was minted in Leipzig and is attributed as Levinson I-148.

Those coins from Cleve are real beauties! Quote: Am I the only one here that just collects Early Dated pieces? As best I can tell, the answer is yes. I collect coins of several places, only one of which (Brabant) has early dated coins (though I could change that if I allowed my Polish collection to creep over into Pomerania). Since joining CCF, I've kept an eye out for more early dated coins of Brabant, but the price for nice examples like yours have gotten pretty high, at least if you take the summer Kunker auction results as an indicator (I bid on several there, but didn't win any). Brabant double briquet 1475:

@tdziemia Very nice coin! In Bob's book its catalogue reference number is II-17. Thank you for the kind words concerning mine. When I spoke with Bob in 2017 he said he was aware of only 2-3 collectors in the U.S. that strictly collected Early Dates. Most who collect them usually collect one for each date. He said in Europe they just collect by region as you probably do, Brabant, Flanders, Saxony. I hope to see a few more pieces from your collection!

Alas, the 1475 is my earliest dated coin. I'm not sure how much earlier there are dated coins from Brabant.
I think a lot of collectors here are really enjoying the images you are sharing!

Quote: Am I the only one here that just collects Early Dated pieces? I have an OFEY (One From Each Year) collection, but it goes back only to 1498, with just a few dates before that, some of which are islamic.

@tdziemia For Brabant, the earliest year with a date is 1474. Levinson lists a Double Briquet II-11, Briquet II-12,and a demi Briquet II-13. Each is as rather common. My experience is that, that term is relative. Condition and budget usually dictate our success in obtaining any item. I've placed bids on two "doubles" and one "demi" over the years. In the case of the "demi", 3x the upper estimate, and was a loser each time. I will post my Single Briquet tomorrow.

Quote: I have an OFEY (One From Each Year) collection, but it goes back only to 1498, with just a few dates before that, some of which are islamic. Something similar is in my long term plans, though I expect a lot more of my dates to be Islamic if I ever get that far. Right now, however, even in the 1800-present range, I'm apparently missing 1850, 1847, 1845, 1844, 1839, 1833, 1829, 1823, 1821, 1819 and 1811. (Some of those I might actually have in the less catalogued parts of my collection.) Then (with the same caveat) there's another 18 dates I'm missing from 1800 to 1750, and from that point on I'm missing more than I have - we're talking maybe fifty-odd different dates in total for the entire pre-1750 range. (Relevantly to this thread, my oldest AD date is 1517; I have an Islamic coin from 1513, but apparently nothing more until at least 1323.)
