Hi,

I received this 1776-1976 D Quarter in pocket change. After further review online, that there is a DDO for this year. I am thinking that I mite have one? Any opinions? Or help would be great. Thank you.

Here is what the DDO-001 looks like:

Note the width on the LIBERTY? Your coin is from a normal die with machine damage on the devices.

I have one that doesn't resemble the one above, 1976-D. There are two variations listed on the coin sites, can't determine if these examples fall in either of those categories.

The first looks like MD, a different angle may show it better. The angle you used on the second is perfect. You can clearly see the flattened devices. It looks like a shelf. Also the retraction rolled the upper edge of the R and part of the B up. This is a good example of MD.

Dean's coin is also MD. Note how the 'B' is reduced in size. On hub doubling you see the normal size of the device and a doubled spread on the device. On the MD examples the area in question are flattened, Always the same color as there is no contour to show light to dark. Just a flat step look.
