Thoughts On This 1888 Indian Head Cent?

PatrickM New Member United States 16 Posts	Posted 02/05/2017 8:26 pm I picked up a bunch of cents at a local coin show this weekend, this 1888 is much shinier and kind of blueish than the rest, even ones in a similar grade. The front seems to be more well struck than most of the rest, any ideas? Is this what PVC damage looks like? Report this Post to the Staff

Crazyb0 Rest in Peace 10197 Posts	Posted 02/05/2017 11:08 pm Your 1888 has been cleaned and polished, with what I'm not sure, a cleaner/wax maybe. The 1889 is more how it should look, the "patina" etc. Too bad its polished, wasn't in too bad of shape to start with, a VG or F maybe, don't know the reverse...no pix. Report this Post to the Staff

Is there a good resource to help me identify if a coin has been cleaned or not? Some silver coins seem very obvious but some of these copper and bronze ones not so much. Report this Post to the Staff
