Hello, I appreciate anyone who responds as they are very helpful . I have this 1803 cent and the date seems quite odd with a impression or line between the two numbers 8/0 .any thoughts ? thanks in advance

I agree, that is likely a die break.

That is a Sheldon variety S-261. In late die states there is a large arch-like die break going through the date and part of the bust and curls.

Click on view all images and start at bottom and work your way up. Look for S-261.

Bit of trivia, this obverse die, heavily rusted, was later reworked outside the mint and used to create the restrike 1804 cent.
