You are correct. It was a broken post on the S stamp.

It is actually a chip on this one. The post is used for interior devices that are enclosed.

I've been thinking about that. I was confused. I see what you're saying. It's not the post on the actual stamp because there isn't one. It's the inside of the S broken off on the die itself. Am I thinking about it correctly now? Hence it's a die chip.
