It's Post Strike Damage, since it happened after it left the U.S. Mint. The metal has been smashed by something rolling it. It has lived a very hard life, but it's very cool that you found it in your yard though!

Great job USSID18! You nailed that one for sure! The Wheat cent was run over by a train. The final verdict is it's indeed Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint).
