Quote: With pit bull determination Perhaps that should be Rhodesian Ridgeback determination Just something else for you to google while you're sick!Rhodesia now Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia & Nayasaland. Here is the coin to prove I'm not makin' them up as I go along; I did not add it as a new county. Kept it in with the Zimbabwean stuff. So the count holds at 100!

C'mon Eaglefeet, get with the program! Named after John Cecil Rhodes, as is the Rhodes Scholarship. Founder of the DeBeers Diamond Company, he once owned most if not all of the kimberly diamond mines I believe. A very interesting man to be sure.

Quote: Christmas was very good for this "DARKSIDER" this year! The total Country count has grown by 11 taking us to all 1's Very nice! I have to admit, I am being tempted by the dark side. Your posts and the What's the coin thread are not helping me fight it off! Not to mention, I have a small collection of foreign (to me) coins that are just begging for some friends.

Here's my new 1854 Large Cent pattern, graded PR-65 BN by NGC. In the Judd index system for pattern coins, this is the "J-160" entry. It's a tough coin to photograph and I had to hype the brightness a bit to make the details more visible. The scratches are all on the slab. I don't think I'll be going after any more patterns, but I do love this design.

Wow...that's really nice! The missing stars is very striking. Someday I'll get myself a pattern coin.

Quote: I'll keep up the temptation! Besides your avatar puts you on the gray-side already! Just a nudge and there you are! I have quite a few "gray side" coins after living in border states where Canadian coins frequently circulated (which I have quasi-assembled into some date sets); but the avatar is my only NF coin... Thanks again, Kurt! My non-US coins occupy two Dansco 9-page 12-Pocket 2x2 albums. I have 210 to be exact, but six of them are Canadian (one of each denomination that I have). I really need to organize them better, which is somewhere down on the to-do list with acquiring more!
