I collected a full set of Indian cents that are holed. I just have a collecting bug. Plus they're really cheap and some are really nice.

Thank your for sharing your story, Newmismatist. Quote: Perhaps needless to say, I have no intention of ever selling these. I intend to keep them separate from the rest of my collection and making clear that they're family items.

Nice Morgan. I just picked this up - I can;t believe these beautiful coins are available so cheaply. This was £8.50 which was a good deal but by no means vastly below their going rate. Small crack in the case - but the coins are perfect.

Common silver quarter: Story to go with it: So, a prepper store opens last summer in Corning, CA, but aparently is not open enpough for a middle aged couple in town, so they open their own across the street from the guy where Grandpa and I get our oil changed. While I leave the car at his place, I dash to this new store to have a look. As I chat with the owners, I see some assorted loose Morgans, Peace, ASE, 2x2'd halves layed out in their small display case, and a bowl with some loose quarters and dimes. I ask to look through the bowl. I decide to break the ice with that quarter and they sell it to me at a rather special price: $4.40 when I expected to pay more like $5-6! I may be stopping by there more often!

Another "gift" from the postman :) Nor particually rare or valuable - but always nice to get a 100+ year old coin in this sort of condition

Thank you very much, Jerseyben! 1965 Canadian mint set, 1909 and 1909 VDB Wheats. [Edit:] I decided to liberate the Canadian mint set from the yellowing plastic and put the six coins in 2x2's

Nice ancients IndianGoldEagle. I have not gotten into ancients because I just dont feel confident buying them yet. I do not have the knowledge base I need to know that it is not a fake. I really like the two you picked up though. They have great character.

Well today I went out to my lcs to just get some supplies but ending up buying some new coins that I really didn't need, but the price was right:
1: I picked up a '71@ 40% Ike without blue envelope but it was encased in plastic. That brought the price down somewhat.
2: 1 1965 circulated coin set (half, dime, quarter, nickel, and penny from Philadelphia. The Kennedy is marvelous coin that I'm contemplating on putting to my album. However we'll see about that.
3: A 1981 P and D circulating set. Not sure what I'll end up doing them.
None of the circulating coins were in government boxes but were packaged in the government cellophane
I think I got a fair deal on them, there is a coupld more that I probably go back after in the morning.
Ohyeah - also picked up 1993S PR69dac from PCGS. The price was good and I think that if nothing else it should keep its value unlike a raw coin.
