1957 Jefferson Nickel Grade - Coin Community Forum

Since I am still learning to grade I thought I would use the board to help me out. To my eye this coin looks like it would grade AU50. Your opinions are welcome and would help me greatly. BH1964 Bedrock of the Community United States 10982 Posts	Posted 07/15/2008 10:51 pm It's hard to tell with the pics provided but - I'd say the obverse is EF at least and the reverse looks VF at best. (: The coin obviously still has some luster (top of Jeffies head and bottom of reverse and maybe more). But looks like there's some wear or it's a pretty weak strike. I'd say AU - really nice to find one in that shape that old in circulation. Unfortunately, it's not worth that much, but as the commercial goes - to find one in circulation --> Priceless !! I will only be guessing, but I say High EF or Low AU. I agree with KL that there is either some wear or it is a weak strike.
