Quote: I got my order placed by 12:15 or so (after sweating out the refreshes & similar issued others had). My confirmation email shows the 3 items I ordered and the correct total, but when I look at my order on the Mint's site, it shows $0.00 for the 1 5oz'er I ordered and the correct prices for the other 2 items. Does that mean my 5oz is also in the backorder category? to the Community, PaPaDawg!

Quote: Gee, based on the sales figures I guess these will be duds in the long run, esp. the 5 oz silver coin with its mark-up. I get your point, but I'm a collector not a dealer or flipper - I bought the saucer for my collection because I really like the design. Besides, dealers and flippers know the game - speculation is a double-edged sword that cuts both ways. (PS: I don't love the mark-up or the surcharges, but that's a discussion for another day...)

I saw a picture of the saucer in the air tite capsule. The capsule is not curved and has three prongs on the inside that holds the coin down and keeps it from touching the top of the capsule.

Sure, and I have a pile of proof sets that remind me of that every time I open my closet. Quick question: How many buyers jumped on the Apollo 11 coins hoping to get a MS- or PR-70?

Quick question: How many buyers jumped on the Apollo 11 coins hoping to get a MS- or PR-70? The bulk sellers did, but from the sales doesn't look like they got many. Most individuals have realized it's easier and cheaper to just buy a graded 70s already than chase them. Quote: I would guess this depends upon whether you are a buyer or a seller If you bought directly from the mint it doesn't really matter which side you are. Only the buyers that wait a year benefit from it

Hmmm, do you think this will scratch the coin in anyway - or will the prongs break and allow the coin to slide in the capsule...? Any reports like this from the Baseball Hall of Fame coins...?

I had thought the flying saucer's sweet spot was right around 50K. It would've sold out otherwise
Totally surprised though that the half dollar set didn't sell more units than the flying saucer. That makes the '19 RP Kennedy a bit of a sleeper for now.

Finally got an email saying my coins are being shipped. I can't wait to see what these look like in hand. Quote: Totally surprised though that the half dollar set didn't sell more units than the flying saucer. I'm curious how this changes once the limits are lifted.
