I'm just to old to worry about not taking coins out of slabs. I know that for some older anything is worth keeping as is but I'm an Album person so regardless of what a slab looks like, the coin comes out and goes into an Album. Also, lack of room if you start multiple collections of anything. For example I have 10 Albums of Mercury dimes and if they were all slabbed I'd have to move into a larger home.

Holder is interesting but I especially appreciate the coin. I see such a nice Mercury and I start to think about collecting that series again...

Not enough money, not enough time. And they're just too small. What a great design though.

Groganking, I know what you mean about the $ issue. They get real pricey in the AU/BU range. I have the complete set with the majority in F-VF with the 16-D PCGS 03. I suggest a Fine set. These are still great looking coins with much detail remaining. You can always worry about the 16-D,21-D,&21 later.

Carl, take my advice, don't buy anything for your albums that's in a first generation NGC holder. The value will go down a MINIMUM of $1000 when you crack it out.
