So this is currently with PCGS, and thinking of buying, site unseen, but I'm trying to agree on a price before hand. I have it as a G4. I think the Obverse is right on the edge of AG3 and G4, but the reverse is a strong G4. Come back as a G4. Thoughts?

I give it a NBFAOC 9. (Not Bad For An Old Coin.) And the wear gives the head a bit of an early movie science fiction-y look.

And then I looked this thing up. I didn't realize how rare a 1916 D was, but now I do. I think I'll content myself with getting a P for that year.

I've seen some AG03 ones that definitely look worse than this one. Solid G04.
Rest in Peace

It's amassing to think how such a rare coin circulated that much without being snatched up . I guess there weren't that many coin collectors back in 1916, but I know there were a bunch of speculators gobbling up the new 1916 series of the Dimes , Quarters, and Half Dollars . Anyway G-04 on this coin .

G-04 as well, I suppose, but my heart isn't in it.
