@coop as usual you are a wealth of information!! and I was just trying to make sense out of the damage on my coin...but I failed to do so! LOL

@John1 thank you for your interest (the photo above is a picture from a book). As a novice, I ruled out capped die and posted my coin as a possible rugged clip but that was shot down immediately LOL. I wish you would look at it though especially my photo where I laid the damaged coin over a good coin bc the damaged area matched perfectly with what one would see with a clipped planchet. My curiosity though is of the triangular damage opposite the "clipped" area. I saw this picture (above) and wondered if my coin split like this. Someone commented that it looked like a band saw was taken to it, I didn't respond to that bc I know there is no possible way to make that triangle with a band saw w/o leaving an overcut at the top. The damage is perfectly smooth and obviously done with one forceful blow. Also it looks too perfect to be a split, plus there are vertical striations that indicate the triangle was somehow punched out. Doesn't really matter I guess but I would appreciate your opinion of the "clipped" side. And I'm sorry Idk how to send a link to that post!
