I intend to sell a 1998s proof Close AM set on ebay. Is it better to leave it as a mint set, or should it be broken out and graded?

Awesome find! In my opinion, I would leave it in the mint set. I'll be worth way more that way.

It a real keeper. The 1998-S close AMs and 1999-S close AMs.

The only one that is not a keeper is the 1993-S Proofs that have the Close AM. They are all that way. Both Business strike and Proofs. They are all close 'AMs. that year.

I was looking a the PCGS info on these 1998-S DCams and the 1999-S DCams: (These are slabbed coins)
1998-S Normal DCam:
PR-70 $80
PR-69

1998-S Close AM DCam:
PR-70 $4,000
PR-69 $360
PR-68 $175

1999-S Normal DCam:
PR-70 $65
PR69 $14
PR68 $7
PR67 $6

1999-S Close AM DCam:
PR-69 $215
PR-68 $100

I was surprised at how low these prices are now.

Nice coin but not likely a PF70.
Certified seems the way to go if it grades high enough. A "raw" one sold for $67 on Jan. 11 on the Bay. And PF69 have sold in the $225 range.
