Many coins submerged in the toxic soup after Katrina were acid-washed. Katrina copper cents have a tell-tale orange look. Katrina CNC coins have the oddly orange copper layer and lightly pitted clad layers. I've seen some pitted Katrina five cent pieces, but they haven't been quite as pitted as yours.
