I am not sure how much one pound was but I would like to know how much this coin is worth now in us currency since I don't believe they produce them anymore.

These coins were demonetized two years ago but if you live in the UK you can still pay them into your bank account, and some banks may still exchange them.

£1 today is worth $1.34. Your circulated 1993 pound coin is of no additional collector value.
