Hi All,
Need help with this 2019-D Penny I found.
At the obverse it has some type of error or PMD over the 1 on the date and at the reverse it has what appears to be extra material piece inside the shield.
Is this a keeper or spender? The penny seems to have some weathering spots but still shinny, no major damage.Sorry for the pictures being upside down.

with the above, and yes, both features were done at the mint. Thats a nice die flaw from such a recent coin, so to me, that is a keeper.

This is not a die flaw since the die that made the coin did not have a flaw in it.
This is a (not uncommon) plating blister. Gas inside between the zinc core and copper plating expanded and raised the thin copper layer. These can sometimes be burst with a toothpick (or hit in circulation). When burst, zinc rot tends to set in and the interior deteriorates. Plating bubbles do not add value to a coin.

Thank you All,
I'm definitely keeping it. I guess it's the 1st addition to my new oddball looking coin collection. Awesome!
