Then of course you will always have the specialty label versions that only some collectors get excited about. Maybe when Dearborn is TOTALLY done with a specific collection such as ASE and that anxiety builds up to add to the collection...but theres nothing left to buy or upgrade These 2023 Special Gold or Silver Foil Label American Westpoint uncirculated Silver Eagles have a limited production of only 2023 labels. West Point ( no mint mark) I should clarify. The labels are marked 1 of 2023. https://lcrcoin.com/2023-silver-eag...e-PCGS-ms70/ and https://lcrcoin.com/2023-silver-eag...e-PCGS-ms70/

Dearborn, do you have any of the 2016 Presidential Coin & Chronicles Set - Ronald Reagan Proof? The set includes a Silver Eagle Proof.

Nice pickups, Dearborn. Unfortunate you were misled a bit on the first two, though they're still attractive examples.

When I see 'specialty label versions' this is what I think of.

Quote: When I see 'specialty label versions' this is what I think of. Yes and like the two links above I just posted. Many of the ASE collectors on this forum dont collect them but some of course do. For example some of those like yours are essentially graded bullion coins that have been identified as to which mint its from via other means and put on the label by the grading company, but dont have the mint mark on the actual coin. In a few cases such as the pandemic led to the U.S. Mint expanding the minting of bullion American Silver Eagles beyond the usual West Point Mint where business-strike silver eagles had been typically struck in recent years. So both Philadelphia and San Francisco produced relatively small quantities of bullion silver eagles to supplement the West Point Mint since t the time the West Point Mint couldn't keep up with the demand under the extenuating circumstances. And so many emergency silver eagles have small mintage numbers and have thus sold for huge sums of money. They're possibly highly collectible, and they might go up in value in the years ahead if more coin collectors decide to pursue these coins. The only way to reliably tell an emergency issue from a regular one (other than buying certified emergency issues labeled by the graders) is to buy them in monster boxes, which are packaged at the U.S. Mint and contain 25 rolls of 20 silver eagles each. Sealed, unopened boxes contain shipping labels bearing serial numbers or other special markings that can tell you which U.S. Mint facility struck and packaged the coins within. So its unknown if the 2023 and other years would have the same impact. Other specialty labels like signatures are also hit or miss but there are so many collectors out there overall they may also be worthwhile when there can be more collectors than numbers available to buy driving up prices over time. I can understand everyone draws a line and again many dont get into the labels just fyi.

But you apparently had 3 choices: 1. 2023 American Silver Eagle MS-70 PCGS (FDI, Black Label) - First Day of Issue - no mint designation 2. 2023 American Silver Eagle MS-70 PCGS (FirstStrikeŽ, Black Label) - First Strike - no mint designation, and, 3. 2023-(W) American Silver Eagle MS-70 PCGS (FS,Black Label) - First Strike - With (W) mint designation Any reason you chose #3 over the others? (or did you get all 3?)

Thank you for all of the information. 2018 Mint Direct is the earliest year that I have certified Silver Eagles. I'm missing two or three years between 2018 and 2023 because I didn't plan on buying some every year. As I mentioned earlier, after I get my proofs and BUs I buy some certified because I really like Silver Eagles and I want as many types as I can get. Now that this topic is in my head I will probably start filling in those few years I missed.
