Not to sound conspirational, but I wonder if an unscrupulous buyer might crack out the coin, plug the hole, and sell it on ebay as "problem free".

Since its still not a valuable coin as problem free, that would be a lot of effort for a questionably minimal gain. Would still be hard to cover that cleaning. Not sure this coin could ever fake as a problem free no matter how hard they tried to talk it up otherwise.

I will continue to search for coins for my PCGS set "Basic U.S. Coin Design Set No Gold (1792-present)". I'm still missing a lot of coins.

Among them:
-Half Cent (1793-1857)
-Flying Eagle Cent (1856-1858)
-Indian Head Cent (1859-1909)
-Early Half Dime (1792-1837)
-Mercury Dime (1916-1945)
-Twenty Cents (1875-1878)
-Early Quarter (1796-1838)
-Barber Quarter (1892-1916)
-Liberty Seated half dollar (1839-1891)
-Walking Liberty Half Dollar (1916-1947)
-Early Dollar (1794-1804)
-Liberty Seated dollar (1836-1873)
-Trade Dollar (1873-1885)
-Morgan Dollar (1878-1921)
-American Innovation Dollars (2018-2032).

I have already bought Morgan dollar and Walking Liberty, they should come to me soon.

Thanks to my sister, I was able to quickly accumulate the necessary amount and at the same time 2 good coins were put up for auction. One with a rating of VG08 the other G06.

I managed to buy a VG08. I consider this a very successful purchase and I am insanely happy.

Congrats! That is much more desirable than the damaged one you started this thread with.
