Here is another coin I got at the same store. Am I just swing things or are these numbers/letters? I'm new to all this and really want to learn. Thank you for any help.

Could be a lamination but to me it looks like old damage and time and circulation wore it down, I'm not seeing any sort of peel from the pics.
