This 1979 Kennedy half I have shows very little wear at all but a small "crack" between the 9 and 7 of the date. Wanted everyone's opinion on whether this is mint or post damage. Thanks to all.

Doesn't look like a scratch so I'm guessing it is a cracked planchet. I'm interested to see what others think.

Taking a closer look at the reverse and noticed these. Not sure if this is DD or just Machine Doubling...still trying to learn the "look" to tell the difference.

IMHO this it is a Clad crack not a all planchet crack. I do not see offend but are around. This it is a thought call. Left side a clear crack, right side is like a scratch or intentional clad cut.

The crack looks to be continuous and not two separate sides. If you look closely, their is a small "flap" of metal/lamination that sticks down between what looks like two sides. I'm actually getting what I hope is a better microscope today in the mail that may yield some better photos. Thanks for everyone's thoughts on this so far....I'ma learnin'!
