Of note though is that the size of this letter D would be too small to have been from a mintmark punch. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 01/03/2023 11:28 am Looks more like a damaged mintmark punch issue that year. https://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln...ie_state=mds Note on this variety, you see the same area affected, but it is not a RPM on that area. The RPM is a West. (Look at who submitted this coin?) Also note who took the images for this coin? So this is just a damage punch issue on the central area of the mintmark. (A hard punch making marks into a tempered die. After many times of doing this, something is going to give. The hammer and the die is a larger substance) When you look at other die listings you will see varying damage to the mintmark punch on them. (Even non RPMs will show the same thing) Report this Post to the Staff
