Kennedy Half - Bicentennial (Mule) With A Rotated Die ! Incorrect Reverse.

Hi everyone I am a new member to the site and I have a coin that has completely stumped me. I have checked it over and over again and it looks completely legitimate. I Never seen another one like it. It has the regular bicentennial Kennedy half dollar Obverse but on the reverse it has the regular Kennedy back With the eagle which I don't think is correct. It should have the bicentennial reverse. It also has a rotated die that is rotated about 20#65439;or more to the right. If anybody has ever seen one like this or has any insight for me I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Agreed - that is a manufactured Magicians coin. Interesting piece but no numismatic value.

yep, Magician's coin for sure - you can see where it was put together at the rim on the reverse.

Well I just learned something today. That's why I love reading these posts. I tapped on the highlighted area where it mentioned a Magician's coin and just saw the video, well quite interesting indeed. This is such a good site and learn so much.

A fun find. I used to roll hunt and got a number of these in a year and a half. The dull thud they make when dropped also is a dead giveaway.

If you want to see if the inside was coated with a Mexican coin or a Brit penny, then put the coin into the bottom of a thick glass and shake the glass, while holding the rim, to separate the two parts. Otherwise you need what is a called a "bang ring" to separate it. I have seen these in aluminum on ebay and also as 3-D printer files that can be downloaded/printed.

Altered coin. Not a "Mule" coin. A Mule coin would be a wrong denomination. This was a faked wrong reverse. (That did not happen that year)
