I was perusing my local coin dealer's wares, and the strong strike of this one kinda caught my eye. Price wasn't bad, either. Opinions?

I'm going to say EF-40, wear on the neck and breast of the eagle. Still a very nice coin.

Yeah, had to get over that before buying the coin. The definition on the tailfeathers made up for it, and now I have an upgrade target for my 7070.

Is the "doubling" on the reverse MD, a design feature, or what?

Here is my XF40 for comparison. PCGS graded it XF40. Super's coin has a great strike. Most 1858's I have seen are soft. It is a nice coin

Another vote for EF-45 details.

If I believed in net-grading, I'd go EF-40 because of the marks.

A real keeper there!
XF-40
How much did you pay for it?
Inquiring minds want to know.
I'm planning on going to show this week-end.
And this is on my list!
