It's possible that it was used as a worker's "time sheet". I have numerous tokens that were issued to employees, and they were used to keep track of the number of hours worked in a day. If this 243 c/s is a work piece, the the stamp's number may represent a worker or a tool, having been used as a check of sorts. That said, I seriously doubt this possibility and see no means, whatsoever, to attribute it to any maker. The only possibility I see to perchance enhance the value of this item would be to attribute it as a rare Sheldon variety .... Just a thought. Report this Post to the Staff

That's the first thing I thought of, but what that has to do with an 1804 cent and it being "contemporary", I haven't a clue.
