Second, yes creating a Texas Cent is one way to have a coin which is larger in diameter then it should be. What is the diameter of yours? Also, I note that when this is done to a copper-plated zinc cent (such as were made in 2002), the copper plating tends to come off leaving behind the grey-colored zinc core.
