I would like to confirm this 72 Ike as type 2.

PCGS 1972 $1 Type 2 Reference

Yes, it's a type 2. The incuse, elongated Cuba is easier to see on your full face image. Here is a zoomed image from that picture:

If you put your Type 2 between a comparable Type 1 and a Type 3 reverse, you should immediately see a difference in reflectiveness and luster. Type 1 looks a little muted, and the devices lower. Type 3 has a lot of luster, and the devices are deeper (particularly the eagle) and more sharply defined. Type 2 has a higher reflectiveness, probably due to the flatter proof die fields. Once I figured that out, it became easy to sort them by overall appearance, with 95% accuracy.
