I agree with Die Deterioration. I don't think it is the wide rim variety. The worn out die, that is partially evidenced by the "odd rim raised and separating" that you see kind of makes it appear that way though. The stressed die leads to the die cracks. I'm not seeing any extra value, but you seem to be on the right track, keep searching.

I second the analysis that this is not a wide rim (near date), but rather a typical (far date) 1979 rim that has sloped inwards from Die Deterioration.
