I haven't really done much lately with this set.
I think I may give up for the most part on trying to find Lincoln cents through coin roll hunting. It's beginning to get too difficult. Besides, for the most part, it seems most of the easily fillable later wheat cents I have it seems. I purchased today on
ebay a 41-S, 48-D and a 21-S. I'm not sure why the 48-D is such an alluding coin.
I may just try to have my credit union branch try to order me a box or two of Lincoln cents, rather than just going there willy nilly trying to obtain random rolls.
Only thing that sucks about this is you don't know what you are getting until it comes in. I've seen them have boxes full of brand new, minted cents. This, obviously, does not help me.
I think I am going to try to match the pages to some degree. For older coins, that are more expensive, I am going to try to stick to a brownish tone for the most part. For the Memorial cents, starting in 59, they are a bit more obtainable in BU condition and I have a lot going forward from this time period that I found in circulation that are nearly BU.
So, for many S mint marks in the teens, they seem to have a bit higher of a premium. Not like key date prices, but I mean, for example, on
ebay, there's a seller with a slabbed 14-S I think for around 30 dollars. 15-S for 22 dollars.
I guess regardless of slabbed or not, I can expect to spend at least 20 plus dollars on many of the coins in the early teens? And yeah, obviously the 14-D is hundreds.
I think I'm going to grab some of the proofs also and add them into the blank spots at the end of the album. Like
Jefferson nickels, I really quite like how the older proofs look before they started issuing them as S minted, proof only coins.
