2024 P Lincoln Shield Cent -Spikehead Die Crack And Die Chip

mb560600 Valued Member United States 367 Posts	Posted 05/21/2025 3:30 pm Came across this 2024 P LSC recently and noticed the obverse die break at the rim through the W in WE. At first I thought it might be a Cud. But upon further examination it appears to be a die chip attached to the die break extending from the rim to the bust of Lincoln. I checked Cuds on Coins and there are no listings for any 2024 P LSC Spikeheads. Is this one worthy of attribution? Report this Post to the Staff

mb560600 Valued Member United States 367 Posts	Posted 05/30/2025 8:51 pm Update: Just received word from JC Stevens that this LSC was attributed on the Cuds on Coins ("COC") web site as a new Spike Head: SKH-1c-2024-01, Lincoln Cent Spike Heads 2020-2029 - Cuds on Coins. So far this is this only 2024 Lincoln Shield cent attributed as a Spike head on COC. Fun find. I have added this to my error collection. I acknowledge that there's not much of a premium for Spike Heads at present. But I see more and more interest on ebay and other coin sites in such die error coins. Report this Post to the Staff
