Check this one out! Any matte proof experts care to weigh in?! I'd bet on it not being a proof, but hey, you never know! That rim is so crisp and sharp!

WoW joeturbo26 that is a great 1909! I don't know about the matte proof portion as I am still learning but I do believe I see pretty strong PIDT on the Reverse of your coin. Is it ok to ask how it was acquired? If I am out of line in anyway please disregard.

Beautiful coin indeed. I'm not an expert on the proof versions of these but I do say it is well struck.

Thanks Kyle. It was won at auction. I don't necessarily see PIDT, maybe it's just the photo. I'd argue if there was PIDT, then it can't possibly be a proof . but again, who knows! Lol

Beautiful coin! I agree there appears to be some PIDT.

Maybe you're right, could be the photo. I actually like my coins having PIDT cause that usually means that it has a good looking mint, is PIDT considered a bad thing? Could a proof not have PIDT?

Very nice coin. I don't think they made proofs that year but I could be wrong.

Mikev50, PIDT stands for Progressive Indirect Design Transfer. It's a form of Die Deterioration, also known as "Ghosting". https://www.error-ref.com/progressi...gn-transfer/
