Going through my Lincoln Cent book and decided to take a closer look at my 14-D. It doesn't look like a modified '44-D and the D looks in the right place and type, but it is slightly tilted so I'm not sure. Any 14-D experts out there?

Looks like the D took a hit, creating the illusion of the slant more than it is.

Compare with these. I think #6?

Looks good to me.
Most counterfeits I've seen, the D is closer to the 9.

My pleasure.

I loaded images of yours, mine, and #6 in different layers in Paint.NET. Different wear and what-not makes it challenging, but they all seem to line up.

Excuse me for interrupting the party - but why is this thread in the US classic & colonials forum.

My input on the coin is it looks legit but I'm no expert. It would be great to uncover a true 1914-D LWC in that condition.

I do say with certainty that this post needs to move to US Modern coins. Message sent to do so.

The "VDB" is protruding from the die to cause the incuse letters on the cent - it is easily worn or polished off.
