Not an error - but sure is strange looking.. Looks like his face was shoved in from the right. I can see moved metal at the 'chin' area.

Looks like Abe got scalped and then did a face plant. But just damage - you can see how metal has been moved post-strike in those areas.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
