Quote:Very true! I have heard that the Franklin half dollars have no expensive key dates supposedly. The 1949-S and 1952-S are as bad as it gets, once you get into the MS grades, and only the 49-S is double the price of the others.

Excellent Humanist! I'm glad to see someone else get a Dime album going.

Perhaps Most of my sets I personally try to fill as much as I can within reason. Every time I get paid, I used to have this process where I would basically buy at least one coin for each album/series I was currently working on at the time. My Shield nickels have basically stalled out completely. As cool as they are, they cost way too much money. So, for now, they are just kind of sitting there. I may or may not ever pick up with them again. Same with my Buffalo nickels. I've basically gotten down to the semi keys/key dates. But, there are a lot more coins in this series and I see this as one that is doable still. I like being able to work on sets that DON'T cost an arm and a leg, though, which is one reason I like the Roosevelt dimes series. Tons of coins that are very reasonably priced, even the silver ones in BU. This is the way I'm leaning now personally for collecting. As much as I would love to get into older coins, like Barber halves, Mercury dimes, Walking Liberty halves, Peace dollars, etc, spending 30-50 dollars every time I purchase one singular coin for the series isn't my cup of tea. I would much rather spend 30-50 dollars, and walk out/receive in the mail a butt load of coins. I kind of found this out the hard way with Liberty nickels, as fun as that was.

A big reason why I took on the 7070 when I did. I could get a taste of all without having to build a set of all.

I'm still hesitant. Perhaps in the future. When the 7070's come back to being easily available again, I'll see if I can snag one for a better price. Ordered some silver dimes last night. I was able to get the 1946-S and 1946 P in BU for around 12 bucks each. For an uncirculated silver coin, I see this as a win. The particular seller I was using didn't seem to have BU 1946-D coins, though.

Me too! I recently had an unfortunate incident occur... My secondary phone, my S21 Ultra, was broken. Rather than replacing it or fixing, or anything like that, I opted to take it to Eco ATM where they gave me 50 dollars cash for it. It would actually be cheaper to just buy a new phone. I know, you might wonder why this is relative.... However, I used the 50 dollars to purchase some coins. I now have various Roosevelt dimes coming from ebay, as well as my first clad proof Ike dollars. Most notably, I now have the 46 P, 46-S, 47 P and 47-D coming in BU from ebay, as well as a few other various UNC/proof coins.
