Can anybody tell me what this is? All I know is that it supposedly came from Germany during WWII and a metals guy said he believed that it is made of at least 10k gold. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks very wrong.. I'd say it's fake but let's wait for the experts.

It's 1 inch in diameter. Don't know the weight.

Sadly, it's definitely not a genuine coin, it's a modern tourist copy of a "pirate coin". It's not from Germany, or Europe; they're still sold in "pirte-themed" tourist places in the USA. The design is based (roughly) on an old Spanish coin, with enough alterations in the design to avoid anti-counterfeiting laws. It's not going to be made of either gold or silver; most of the others I've seen have been brass.

They crop up every now and then here on the forum. This thread has someone asking about a similar piece; here's another.

The lettering looks like a fantasy. I would not be surprised if this were made in a country which does not use the Latin alphabet.
