Darth

Thanks for sharing your IKEs.

We agree that TONE is a positive factor in eye appeal.

No disrespect to the blast white guys.

If I could have only one of your coins, I might choose the toner.

The 74 (S) is a stunner, but DCAMs are meant to be stunners in the first place.

I love the lesser BS stuff, oh so much.

I would be that "anyone". Back in 2011 I bought an entire 11-coin proof set of Ikes, all in PCGS PR69DCAM. Proof Ikes, whether silver or clad, are wonderful to behold.

I took my own photos of the CAC Ike to show off its glistening sheen. I couldn't resist.

Speaking of TONERS..cool find at the local coin shop, found wrapped in original plastic sleeve..my jaw dropped hard...GOLDEN Champagne color 71-S BS 40% Silver IKE...in hand, this has the same golden color as the bag toned 76's I have seen...if not for being wrapped, I would have thought maybe gold-plated. The toning is to die for. May be something in the original planchet that caused the reaction, like, an impurity. Since the collar and reeds are blast white, I'll stick to that theory for now.

Very nice acquisition! I have yet to get a silver proof with golden toning like that. However, I have a 1978 clad that looks like this. It is VERY gold in color. I posted a picture before, but here it is again:

More pics..this is truly one of those "Photo's do not do this coin justice", and, must be seen in hand. Top coin in 2-coin shot a normal blast white specimen.

It's NOT a Proof...Business Strike Blue Ike, which makes it more unreal..1 Ikegroup member said in all the blue packs he's inspected, never saw 1 like this.

NICE Darth..very nice...that golden color I read was made from sitting in canvas bags, which is why you'll see a lot crescent-shaped gold-toned, where coins sat on top of 1 another, at varying angles...every now and then, poof..100% toned...
