There are some 24k gold plated Ikes out there but the plating was done by private companies after the coins left the mint.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I have seen some of those gold plated examples. I don't own any but they do have an off-beat appeal. There seem to be a variety of companies that are gold plating everything from State Quarters on up. One of my favorite local dealers gets them in frequently. |
