Same here, thanks for sharing!
Terry:
Sorry I havn't posted back, but I'm still bummed out over no more Ike's locally from my bank.
Looks like it's only specific E-Bay purchases of Ike's from now on. :(
Chuck.

Chuck, No need to apologize my friend. I have also had to give my brain a small break from the Ike study. I have been researching in other areas since vacation. But there is one thing I am sure of one day I will look at an Ike or there will be another major discovery in the Eisenhower dollar arena (Most likely by Brian ) and the storm will begin in my head again. Got a GREAT 100-IKE order off ebay...all in flips, so, must have been Dad's collection, or something goo, the haul was very nice...many 71, 72-P & D DDO / DDR's, some proof strikes, some true VEDS & EDS Coins, 2, 71-D full railroad rims, and 2 of these matching die 72-D's, with I believe DDO-OO3(Wexler), and, has matching die crack from rim, through IN, down past R...matching twin coins, stunning die state(late Early Die State), super crisp strike, awesome clean rim, not a lot of chatter...these are going in for slabbing for sure...I suppose the die crack on such an early die is testimony to the problems the mint was having with the dies on these type-1 coins, low relief..the die was cracking up VERY young..I'm sure it didn't last much longer...the mint switched to the 52100 stronger steel dies, and, higher relief type 3 coins later in 72, to overcome the die issues...I RARELY find ANY IKES with die cracks, so, these are real keepers... The Perfect 1978-S Proof Eisenhower dollar? You would think so, from the first 2 pics...unfortuneatly, there is 1 line(not a cut, just a rub line, making the toning missing, as a line---ughhhh) that will put this at PF69, like most of the other 78-S IKES..it IS a first-strike IKE, you can read a book off the field....never had one quite like this before...the die is so new, even the field has a matte finish..NEVER seen that on any proof IKE either...
