I've been working towards being a full time coin dealer for a few months now, and so far, so good. I've had some great lots at auctions, fairs, markets etc, and was just curious to see how others might be doing in different countries and areas.
I'll get the ball rolling - I recently bought a lot at auction that included two Keeling and Cocos Island tokens from 1913 5 cents and 10 cents - mintage 5,000 each - and a high book price, for a very good price. They were described and photoed well so was surpirsed to get them for a decent price, and the description of 'other world coins including some silver' with no photo I assumed would be mainly junk and didnt factor into my pricing. Got them today, tokens great - and the 'junk' included a silver crown 1890, a Maria thersea Thaler, 40 minor silver coins, a hammered groat in about fine grade and about 200 assorted others! Was extremely pleased. Just curious if anyone else has any recent finds they'd like to share.....
