Ok so have this 1850A Germany/Prussia 3 Pfennig coin on page 465 on Krause it says there is an mule of this coin, pictures look exactly the same as far as I can see.
How do you know?

Hello.
A mule coin is a coin that has an obverse (heads side) and reverse (tails side) design that wouldn't ordinarily go together on the same coin.

A mule generally has the wrong obverse. A 1959 Wheat cent would be a mule, or that coin that came out with a quarter on one side, and minibuck on the other. hth.

Yes I understand but like I said the mule and the non-mule look exactly the same in the catalog, so whats up with that?

Pfenninge is small on the mule.

Hmm...interesting coin! I see in Krause both the Pfennige and Pfenninge varieties are listed.
On Krause, the "Pfennige" version is the rare variety
