No coin shops around here, get my nickels from roll searching. The rest come from various places on the world wide web and here on CCF.

Coin dealers and bullion buyers. I go through the bags of coins they have ready to ship to the Scrappers. Its the most fun I have had in years. They honestly don't care about dates and mint marks or condition. My best Coup? An 1903 S Barber dime in XF. Other nice coins include; 1913 Barber Half in VG, 1921 Merc in AG,1916 D Obverse Walking Lib. Half, 2 1927 D SLQs in vg and vf, a half dozen Barber halves with full liberty, x2 for quarters, and about the same for dimes, a full set of BU Franklin's ( not all at once, though), a couple of dozen common date Walking Lib. Halves in BU, 3 full set of Rosies in BU before I just stopped because of the sheer number of them coming thru. 3 full sets of Mercs ( minus 16d, 21d, and 2 minus 21P). Two sets with around 25 or so of them BU. I still collect BU Mercs, and XF or better before 34. I also have a full set of Washington quarters to 99, including proofs from 54. I also have them save me the uncirculated/proof pennies and nickels from the sets they cut up for scrap. I pay spot and have been since last summer.

I like finding them in change. also when my friend go overseas they bring back random coins in their pockets and give them to me. I prefer not to buy coins as I like the thrill of finding.

I voted "coin dealers". Probably about a quarter of my collection was given to me by friends/relatives or found in change, about a quarter purchased at brick-and-mortar coin auctions, and the rest from coin dealers.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Quote: Sorry about nabbers I was trying to say neighbors. I am not a good speller. How do you do the quote thing? Dude I rank in the top five on the worlds worst spellers list. We have this wonderful spell checker on the forum that bails me out nearly every time I use it. Sometimes I manage to hack a word so bad the spell checker looks at me says.............What?

I voted coin dealers but ebay is a close second for me. I'd love to visit some coin shows but my schedule just never seems to allow it.

I get everything I can through roll hunting. Whatever I find is something I don't need to buy! I have so far only bought coins that are from the sets that will be harder to find in circulation Buffalo nickels, indian head pennies, V nickels, Mercury dimes ect ect I have never bought a Roosevelt dimes, Jefferson nickel, jfk half, susan b, ike, president also I hate buying wheat pennies because after I do I ALWAYS find that date in a box lol love roll searching though
