I bought these at a yard sale over 20 years ago for about $ 1.00 over cost. I new they weren't much collectible's and decide to see what was in the can today from the safe. Also from the safe was a Plastic Cigarette Case from Hong Kong during my Navy Days. I was discharged in July 1969 and in this case was: Since I was Stationed in Long Beach California the last 2 Years and a Navy Postal Clerk, I was only looking for the San Fransico. Mint Nickels So it possible I did good finding the 1968 and 1969 S-Mint in Circulation 1957 D ( 6 ) 1958 D ( 9 ) 1959 D ( 6 ) 1960 D ( 2 ) 1961 D ( 1 ) 1962 D ( 4 ) 1963 D ( 4 ) 1968 S ( 19 ) 1969 S ( 32 ) D ( 1 )
Well at least the War Nickels make the can worthwhile. I would be disappointed that there were no 'S' nickels in the lot. They must have been picked out before they were put in the can.
Suprisingly I didnt have too much trouble when I was putting together a set of nickels from circulation. I just found the 1969-S and the 1968S just like 2 monthes ago.
