yarm Valued Member United States 343 Posts	Posted 04/02/2014 11:02 am The defeat of the British navy by combined Franco-Spanish forces off the Mediterranean coast of France in 1744 was a huge embarrassment to the British and resulted in the court-marshal of the fleet commander and others.
