I need some help with this one. I thought RIC 104, but I can't get the first part of the obverse legend to fit with "IMP C CLAVDIVS AVG"...

I think you are right in having it as RIC 104. The lettering is a bit weird, with M written as IIII, A as II, V also as II ... so what looks as IIIIID at the beginning is really IMP. The OCRE entry for RIC 104 has several examples with similar lettering: http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.....104?lang=en

Looking at the examples on wildwinds I agree with RIC#104
The M of IMP seems to match looking like IIII and the P is just badly executed which is quite a common occurance on this type coin.

The existing edition of RIC is incomplete with regard to Claudius II. At the link below, you will find a searchable database which is the basis of a coming revision of RIC V. The database includes many varieties not included in the original edition.
